| Oh you heard right!! Friday, Jen comes over to stay with
me for the weekend and I had made a rather large batch of the dreaded
Bionic Punch, as we've now christened it. Big Mistake - come early evening
we are already talking about going to Swansea the following day and it
didn't take long to pick up the phone and grab a couple of theatre
tickets. We didn't do bad either - row C and as it was at the side it
actually turned out to be second row. Next job was to find somewhere to
stay and at this late a date I thought to hell with the cost and managed
to get a room at the Holiday Inn in the centre of town. Not far to crawl
just in case!
We had to pay a fortune for the train tickets the next day so I won't go into that but on the train were a load of Man United supporters who we got very friendly with. We were in two minds whether we should even go to the show as they were offering us free tickets for the match the next day!! |

| In the end Swansea won and we eventually
arrived at the hotel around 13:00 which wasn't bad. The room was ok but it
was so darn hot we just wanted to get down into the pool. With the
heat-wave we were having that was another reason I wanted a decent hotel -
it had to have a pool!! That was just what we needed before we went to
collect the tickets and get something to eat.
We ended up sitting in the little park area by the theatre for ages and I decided to do a bit of sunbathing - sprawled across one of the wooden benches - Jen sat under the trees and became one with Nature (or that's how she put it - truth is she burns like hell)!! I was just praying Jon wouldn't turn up early and catch me looking a total pratt but it wouldn't be the first time and I don't suppose it will be the last either. He didn't turn up at the theatre until quite late - can you blame him in that heat?! We didn't think he would have any time to sit around but as usual he found some which was nice. He even had time to write a note for Jennifer in Australia (still got to post that - oops). I let Jen loose with the camera - never again - sorry Jen. Had to include it though as I would have been shot by the mob if I didn't!! |

We intended seeing the play then running off to the beach
as soon as it was over but Jon had to go in the bar so he asked us to meet
him in there. He had to get off as fast as he could though as he was
driving home that night - rather him than me!
The show was excellent - only problem was the crowd who thought it was a comedy and started us off laughing as well - fatal - AND we hadn't even had a drink. There are some lines in that play that have us in stitches and they are not meant to by any means. After the show we couldn't wait to get into the bar for some real alcohol but all we could face in the heat were pints of lager shandy!! Me, with a pint in my hand!! Oh well Sarah would have been proud of me - not the contents though but it was far too hot for anything else and and at least it was part alcohol. |
| Jon came and sat with us for a while and a couple of
people asked him for autographs. He left soon after and we finished our
drinks and went back to the hotel to change and get ready for the
beach.
Boy, was it still hot - Swansea was alive with people as well. It was a brilliant atmosphere and we had a great time. Next day we travelled back to Cardiff to catch the train for Manchester. That place was heaving with football fans - pity we never managed to see our fans again! We had to laugh at that station - we asked for the platform for Manchester and was told it was Platform ZERO!! We thought we had entered a Harry Potter novel - LOL!! Air conditioning on train was crap and we melted most of the way back but we survived to tell the tale. Mum forgave me for leaving the cats alone for the day so all turned out well. |

| Just remind me never to have a drink when Jon has a show on the next day and we are not planning on going!! We're now totally skint but have to say it was worth every minute. Seems ages now before we see him again as well so we're both glad we went. | |
