Welcome to the home page of Donna Malcolm Hirsekorn. Graduated from the University of North Florida, May 3, 2002, with a B.A. Studio Art emphasis Drawing/Painting. Life so far, has been dedicated to the role of wife, mother and grandmother. Husband of 40 years is Wally and children include: Laura, Sean and Eric, grandchildren include: Chelsea, Emily, Andrew, Katie, Ian, Trinity, and Emma. Hobbies are dancing, reading, genealogy and writing. A few of my writing accomplishments include being the Co-founder of ORIONS ARM, science fiction based on hard science, where technology meets space opera. Also, published have been four poems of esoteric subject matter. Working from January 7, 2003 to May 9, 2003, as an Art Teacher for a local Middle School I learned a lot about the human condition that is deep rooted in the youth of America. The 240 students that I taught Art were a cross section representative of American youth. It was certainly a different experience and now I am looking for a job outside of teaching. I take life as it comes and I meet challenges with engery knowing that to overcome obstacles is a great ability that we humans have. My life has been the thorns on the brush rather than the roses blooming at the top of the plant. These thorns have created within me a resilence to defeat. The more I am pushed down the more I get up and try again. Giving me ability to deal with the human condition in others with grace and dignity. I have friends who have embraced me and given me strength and joy in life as well.
