Double Double

 Play produced by Ian Dickens

Phillipa James has picked up down-and-out Duncan McFee from London's Embankment and brought him to her husband's luxury apartment. It is, she explains, purely a business arrangement based on Duncan's uncanny resemblance to her husband Richard, unfortunately deceased a few weeks prior to his birthday when he should inherit a million pound trust fund. Now it's only a week to go to the birthday, all Duncan has to do for a half share is impersonate Richard at a party and convince the family solicitor that Richard is alive and well and married to Phillipa. But Phillipa hasn't reckoned on falling in love with Duncan and has she told him the whole truth? This clever thriller twists and turns until the stunning climax that leaves the audience gasping.

I'm sure that everybody who saw the show over it's run in Crewe was delighted with the performance. I've certainly had some good feedback from friends who did attend some of the shows. It had certainly moved on a long way from the first shows in Swansea.

For those of you who didn't manage to catch a show you still have chance as the show will be starting again at the end of January 2003 and running for around 8 weeks. So far the dates I know are shown below.

There are two people in the entire play and you have to give them both equal credit for an excellent performance that has your eyes glued to the stage from the minute the curtain rises - a really clever production - we take our hats off to you Mr. Dickens.

Nothing like a group hug to finish the tour!!

Reminds me of a certain character from Star Trek but that's another story!!
