Pedigree

Angus passed away on January 14, 2004. He bravely and stoiclly made it to 12 years and 8 months. I feel blessed and thankful for having known such a great dog. A dog whose life touched so many people, in and out of dogs. His energy and spirit live on in and with us.

My first Rottweiler, my first Schutzhund dog, he was one in a million.

When I went searching for a Rottie puppy back in 1991, I knew I wanted a dog to do something with but I hadn't defined what that something was. I had read a little about Schutzhund, but thought I could never be capable of such a difficult sport. Dave and Cheryl Adams bred Angus. They were members of MN Valley SchH Verein and spent a lot of time talking me into this sport. Between Angus, his breeders and the patience and persistence of MVSV's training director Donna Rednour - we achieved unparalled success.

Angus taught me patience (I'm still learning), he taught me to be innovative. He taught me about the sport, he introduced me to a new world, new friends, new experiences. Angus had hip dysplasia, and showed countless people that a hip joint does not make or break the dog.

Angus was one in a million. Really.
