Steve Hart

As with the rest of this site I am still working on improving all aspects, this page included,
for launch (June 2001).

School

Yes, been there, done that, And Uni as well, 3rd Class Hons Mechanical Engineering, (1st Class Hons Beer appreciation and consumption.)

Electricity

My 1st Career. 27 years with the Electricity Industry in England. Finishing with an excelent group of staff known as Powercom, alas we we did not toe the party line, (we liked getting thing done). So things had to change. I never did do well with party lines so now was the time to go, 1999.

  The big OE

A new millenium,    A new Country,    A new life,    A new Career.

Having married a girl brought up in New Zealand. It was inevitable that one day we would settle here. I don't think Christine expected it to take almost 20 years to extract a Yorkshire man from his realm. But I have to admit now here' I am very happy and will not be returning except to visit. (Could do with a good Real Beer though!)

"Always try and find a different view" they said.
Well how's this, taken from a huge benbo tripod known locally as "the Giraffe".
Photography

I have always been a keen on photography, right from my 1st camera, a fold out Agfa, which I still have. My first modern camera a Pentax Spotmatic with a 1.4 lens realy got me hooked, bought 2nd hand for the massive sum of £200 30years ago, so some prices have come down, all mechanical and still going strong.
I'm a Canon man now and a big believer in the Image Stabalization technology now used in their lenses. My favourite is probably the 100-400IS lens which worked extremely well photographing Albatross in flight from a boat. (Pictures will be included in the next upload of images).
For a number of years after leaving Uni work seemed to get in the way but the priorties came back eventualy and now Photography is work, or is it the other way round? Anyway work is a four letter word and probably not appropriate, it sounds too much like a chore and that is far from the case.
I enjoy and undertake most forms of photography but my real passion is Nature Photography, and although I cannot claim to be an expert Naturalist my knowledge and understanding are expanding all the time. Getting close enough to obtain good images without disturbing your subject is rarely easy, but sometimes just being there and sharing the moment is reward enough for the effort involved and good pictures are a bonus. If you do not enjoy and have a passion for your subject, you are unlikley to get good images. (Perhaps that is why I don't do weddings)

  Future

Under Construction.
