2/02/08 - UNRELEASED SONG FINALLY SURFACES! - A song that Rush fans have been wondering about for many years has finally been heard. "Tough Break" was recorded by Rush and a couple of crew members in the 1981-1982 period between mixing the live Exit...Stage Left and recording for Signals in Morin Heights, Montreal's Le Studio. Other than Neil on drums, the track was written by Skip Gildersleeve on guitar and Jack Secret on bass and vocals. Geddy plays all the keyboards. There is mention of the track by Neil in the Signals tourbook... "I had been working down in the little studio, cleaning and renovating an old set of Hayman drums that were kicking around, and had started working on a "Jack Secret" song with Jack and Skip from the crew. Geddy and Alex soon joined in on keyboards and rhythm guitar, and we later recorded the song ("Tough Break") up in the studio."
Before now, the track had been a mystery. It was found added as a bonus track on a recently made bootleg cd of a Philadelphia 1986 show called "Power Run". You can find the mp3 in our files section.
